A spokesperson for the Moraga Police Department said the department has been quite busy in the past several days, responding to a variety of calls and incidents throughout the area.
The first incident reportedly pertained to a woman who reached out to officers after receiving numerous harassing emails and phone calls from a man who resides in Europe. She has since changed her number and email address. Officers say this seems to have solved the problem. Later that same day during a welfare check on a local residents, a man with a no bail warrant was found to be at the residence. That man was taken into custody and booked into the Martinez jail. Individuals who have no bail warrants will need to remain in custody until when and if a judge releases that hold.
Several days later, the MPD responded to a call regarding a smash and grab out of a vehicle. They also investigated an incident of assault on Rheem Blvd. Officers say two intoxicated men called a cab to take them home from a local bar. The men refused to pay upon their arrival. One punched the driver in the head. Police were able to convince the men to pay. Neither of the assailants were taken into custody.
MPD officers later arrested and charged a man for driving under the influence. His car was impounded and he was taken to the Martinez Jail to be booked. In an unrelated incident a few blocks later, a woman was arrested and charged with public intoxication. She was also taken to jail.
Additional calls related to reckless driving and disturbing the peace were also investigated. No arrests were reported to be made on those calls.
