Police in Martinez say they’ve arrested an Antioch man on suspicion of burglary. The suspect, who police identified as 32-year-old Stanley Holton, is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on $200,000 bail bonds.
Holton was on probation for assault with a deadly weapon at the time he was taken into custody. A driving factor behind his $200k bail bonds is believed to be linked to the probation violation.
Police say they were tipped off about a burglary at an antique store in mid-June; the suspect had fled the scene by the time they arrived. Approximately an hour later, officers were tipped off about another burglary in progress.
They surrounded the building and the Holton was arrested after he tried to leave from a side door.
He was handcuffed, Mirandized and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility to be booked and processed into the system. It’s not immediately clear if Holton is working with a Contra Costa County bondsman to have his Martinez Jail bail bonds posted.
