A parolee who is believed to be responsible for a string of robberies has been arrested and booked at the Contra Costa County Jail.
Martinez Jail representatives have confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody in the late February. He’s believed to be responsible for robberies, which took place at different Auto Zone locations.
The suspect in both crimes matched the same description, police said. At the time police tracked him down, they found approximately $500 on his person along with evidence that tied him to prior robberies.
The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and robbery; he was also charged with a parole violation, which means he was assigned a no bail bonds hold at the time he was booked into the county jail.
After booking, he was transferred to the West County Detention Facility. It will be up to a judge to decide whether the no bail bonds hold will be lifted.
