Officers within the Walnut Creek Police Department have had their hands full in the past several weeks. Below are just a handful of the incidents they were called out to investigate.
In the middle past of last month, WCPD officers received a call regarding a burglarized vehicle. Sources say an unknown suspect smashed the windows of a truck and stole several items that had been stashed inside the cabin. In another, possibly unrelated incident, a car had its windows smashed and the thief made off with an iPod.
Several days later officers received a report of a hit-and run along Pringle Avenue. In that incident, the driver plowed into a fire hydrant before taking off.
As the month progressed, there were several other instances of vehicular burglary. The Walnut Creek Police Department is urging residents to not keep valuable items inside their cars. If something does need to be left in your vehicle, stash it out of sight in the trunk, under a seat or in a glove compartment.
Anyone who thinks they have information that could lead to the capture and arrest of those involved in these crimes is asked to call the Walnut Creek PD tip line. Once the criminals are taken into custody they will be booked at the Martinez Jail pending bail bonds.
