When someone is brought to the Richmond Jail, they will be searched for drugs and weapons. They will be photographed and fingerprinted and a background check and nationwide warrant search will be completed during booking.
Personal belongings such as wallets, cash and cell phones will be collected by the staff at the jail and held in safekeeping until the inmate is released from the jail.
Bail will be set according to the Contra Costa bail schedule. Once booking is complete, we can go to the Richmond Jail 24-hours a day to post the bond for your loved one’s release.
There are strict visitation guidelines for the Richmond Jail:
- No visitation on Wednesday or Thursday
- Visiting times are at 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:30 pm
- No more than 3 visitors allowed at one visit
- Visitors must be present 30 minutes prior to scheduled visit time
- Visitors must dress appropriately
- Present proper photo ID
